How Not to Start a Revolution

It seems as if  the majority of Americans and quite possibly the majority of the world are discontent with the current situation of the county there are a lot of people that i have personally seen expressing anger, confusion, distaste and so on about the government, taxes, gun control, health care, etc you name everyone has an opinon and often believe they have the solution. My complaint is that while i appreciate any Opinion that is well stated and based in fact there are an abundance of people that have something to say about changing the country but that's where the motivation ends. not to say that there are not organizations or individual people out there who are in fact leaving the comfort  of their own homes and Internet platforms they are the exception rather than the rule. one group in particular comes to my mind and this is the non group/group Anonymous. they have gotten a lot of media attention at least in my state when they intervened in a Stubenville Ohio rape case. while there methods may be unconventional namely the use of hackitisum (which is still illegal ) I commend them for mostly being a group of change driven people who went in to the  world and dove in to the underbelly of the Internet to make change come about. I would like to suggest that anyone reading this check them out and take a look more in depth as to what they do and what they stand for en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anonymous_(group)   (yeah, yeah, yeah. wikipedia i know.)

My point is that if we get so worked up about the issues at hand yet fail to do anything to fix the issue then we are basically just pissing in the wind. so while i don't claim to have all the answers and I don't know the secret formula for getting people off their asses and active to make a change  I can tell you what isn't going to work.

1. Complacency
A lot of people get stuck in this mind set  of everything is fine, and even if the sate of the country is not directly effecting your life. you can rest assured that is things continue on how they  are going it soon will be and you can bet that is effecting some one you know right now
Remember ignorance may be bliss but there comes a point when ignorance is just ignorance.

2. Misinformation /lack of information
You Cannot base facts on opinions, facts are facts there are no substitute for cold hard facts and not knowing them or not knowing all of them will do nothing but hinder you in becoming an active and productive revolutionary

3. Arguing Politics,Religion or just about anything on the Internet
some old adages apply here once again your taking a piss in the wind  and you can't argue with stupid. you don't want to get stuck in this downward spiral of idiocy. Wining an argument on the Internet doesn't make you anything but another idiot arguing on the Internet. also ....don't feed the trolls you have better things to do with your time

4. Not staying updated
this could go along with misinformation but i feel it deserves its own place because once you find something you really want to change not staying up to date on the issue makes it very hard to support it or fight it  or do anything other than forget about it even if you spend a lot of time keeping up with the issue rather than fighting it actively something you feel strongly enough to keep with means that it is worth your time and your voice to go out there and say something and do something if you cant keep up with it or get tied of following the issue maybe its not something you really care about and you should focus your time and attention else where.

5. Not looking for local or global activist groups to be involved with
this is so important if you feel strongly about something you should seek out other like minded individuals i would warn to hold their beliefs and practices to the standards of your own moral code don't get involved with any groups that are undertaking practices that you are not comfortable with one person can be an activist but many activists joined together for a single purpose are a movement
and will help you make changes in the world also becoming involved in these groups will give you accountability its hard to do nothing with others are counting on you.

BONUS
6. FEAR
The worst reason for not getting involved it fear  if you sit back and do nothing and watch the country go down the drain things are going to get a lot more scary out there so i urge you to act now and not when its to late.

i hope this was helpful please comment any suggestions likes dislikes etc. oh and suggestions and helpful comments  on grammar and punctuation will be reviewed and noted but  rudeness will be deleted immediately
